Jessica Simmonds (OTA) came to Back to Life Rehabilitation in 2020. She started here with us as our office manager, but has transitioned to OTA in 2022 following her love of children. 

A graduate of Kennedy High School, St. Clair College, and a mom of two little ones, Jessica knows personally, the amount of patience, dedication and work that goes into helping develop young minds.. 

Two years of daycare work experience,and over 6 years as a mother, shes’s eager to follow her passion of helping kids.  She spends most her free time with her kids, Emma and Brody, camping, hiking, and overall exploring outside. 


Shelby Thomas (BHK, M.S.,  OTA) started at Back to Life Rehabilitation.in October of 2022.  She has a passion for helping children of all abilities grow and develop  in their best selves and help them reach all of their goals. Shelby’s goal in life is to encourage happiness and laughter in the lives of children and to make them feel like they are each special and wonderfully made.  She is dedicated and fully invested  in the development  of young children’s minds. Shelby’s future goals are to become a Pediatric Occupational Therapist specializing in Sensory Integration.

Shelby is a former basketball player where she played for 10 years with the Windsor Valiants. She also was on the varsity track and field team at the University of Windsor. In her free time you can find her coaching  track and field, going for long bike rides or any type of physical activity.


Kassie Milanis (OTA) joined the team at Back to Life as a volunteer in August 2021 and was hired onto the team in  January 2022. She has a strong passion for working with children and adolescents of all abilities and strives to support each individual in reaching their goals. She hopes to continue helping, spreading kindness, and making a difference in people's lives.

Kassie will be graduating in 2023 with a Bachelors of Human Kinetics at the University of Windsor. She loves to be involved in school and is a founding member of the Pre-Occupational Therapy Society at the university. She has aspirations of attending graduate school to earn a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. 

In her spare time, Kassie enjoys spending time with friends, playing the ukulele, and travelling.


Donald Towsley is the loving husband of Jeanmarie Towsley and Father of Emile and Gillian. After graduating from the University of Windsor in 1983, he worked as a chemical engineer for 39 years with jobs at BASF, Dupont and finishing with 27 years at Chrysler Windsor Assembly Plant. Now he is retired from the auto industry and assisting at Jeanmarie’s business, Back to Life Rehabilitation.

In his free time, you’ll find Don enjoying his passion, photography.  He also loves to spend time during the warm months with Jeanmarie and his best friend D’Arcy by going on hikes and kayaking adventures. When the snow starts to accumulate you will find him snowshoeing or skiing at Blue Mountain Resort.
